The mobile syncing option is also a great feature and really straightforward to use. If you haven’t encountered Photo Studio before I would recommend trying it out based on the colour editing facilities alone. You’ve got so many options at your disposal, my personal favourite being the colour wheels: these represent a slightly different approach to that presented by most rivals, but they deliver maximum control and are a real pleasure to work with. I don’t know of any other software that delivers such vast amounts of control when you’re editing colour. It’s worth noting again, as I touched on this in a previous review, that the features I feel are the particular strong points in Photo Studio are the colour customisation options.
Every task or feature I’ve tried within this new upgrade is very efficient, there are zero load times and everything is done instantly. In terms of speed and performance, Photo Studio for Mac 8 absolutely delivers. Also included is Mobile Sync, enabling editing on the go.
There are also new additions to colour customisation within Mac 8, with Colour LUTs, Colour Wheels, Tone Wheels, Dehaze, Skin Tune and the addition of contrast to the colour EQ panel.
There’s increased performance with user-friendly GUI improvements and a customisable indexer, which allows Mac 8 to efficiently organise files while computers are in idle mode. Photo Studio 8 is built for speed and performance and designed to get the most out of the latest M1 Apple chip or any Intel based Mac computers. The software is particularly good for batch workflows and non-destructive editing, and you can search for images using metadata, fine tune your adjustments in develop, save presets to make editing down the line easier and more efficient and there’s much more. It covers all areas of post-production, from file management and developing/editing images through to sharing and connecting with the community via the 365 ACDSee cloud based platform. If you haven’t already tried out ACDSee’s Photo Studio you owe it to yourself to take a look. AFTER PREVIOUSLY reviewing and using ACDSee’s Photo Studio 7 Mac and being hugely impressed by what was on offer I was keen to take a look at the company’s latest launch, Photo Studio for Mac 8.
